In the past week we have been working on the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and related projects. Because I see a need to continue identifying uppercase and lowercase letters we will extend this theme for another week or so. Please have the children practice writing the letters at home as well. All activites fall into our daily routine categories.
Monday: ABC Bingo/ Painting the Alphabet
Tuesday: How many letter matches can you make?/ Alphabet toss and catch
Wednesday: Writing the alphabet/ Letter and Phonics Songs
Thursday: Alphabet Memory Game/ Alphabet Hunt

Sorry :(September 18, 2006 Kindergarten Enrichment News This week we will have a variety of activities around the letter Mm and the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We will work on recognizing and matching uppercase and lower case letters. We will also work on writing skills, letter and number recognition, and music (patriotic songs). We will work on a M & M Math page ( graphing) and continue our study of rules and the five senses. Reminders: Write your childs name on their sweatshirts and jackets.

In the afternoon we reinforce skills and concepts introduced in the morning with hands on activities. This week we will work on left and right songs (Hokey Pokey, etc), self portraits (position words), writing, number bingo, alphabet games, School Rules book, our five senses, and Hula Hoops.
Schedule:
12:30-12:45 Quiet Time
12:45-1:00 Circle Time
1:00-2:00 Learning Centers – class divides into two then rotates activity every 20 minutes (Mon. ABC’s /123’s; Tues. Art/ PE; Wed. Science/ Writing; Thurs. Music/ ABC’s; Fri. Soc. Studies/ 123’s)
1:55-2:00 Clean up
2:00-2:20 Recess
2:20-2:30 Prayer/Backpacks/Reminders
2:30 Dismissal

When picking up your child please park in the parking lot and walk to your childs kindergarten classroom. The front and back circles are for pick up and drop off only. No parking is allowed in these areas.
